The Arctic Tundra is one of the world's unique biomes. This biome, consisting of permafrost and severe cold weather, has the worst characteristics you will ever find. But what attracts people to the harsh arctic tundra is its natural beauty and wildlife. National parks have been formed by the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for the purpose of protecting "the last great wilderness." Through scientific research, the arctic tundra is most enjoyable during the summer, when the burst of wildflowers begin to emerge. Polar bear and Caribou migration is also a characteristic of the beauty of wildlife. The beauty of this biome is heavily guarded by environmentalists including the government so that future generations may experience destinations relatively untouched by human intervention.
